Procedure Manual for Faculty
Facility Information
Location: Argosy University, Chicago is located at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1300, Chicago, IL 60601. A campus map here.
Campus and Building Hours: Faculty will have access to the campus from 6:00 a.m. until 10:30 p.m., M-F, and from 7:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., Sat-Sun. Security Identification Cards must be carried to enter and access the campus at all times.
Offices: Administrative and faculty offices including all Faculty, Program Chairs, Clinical Training Department, Campus Administrators, and the Academic Learning Center are located on the thirteenth floor. Student Services, Career Services and Alumni Relations, Admissions, Student Finance, and The Psychological Services Center are located on the Upper Concourse level
Faculty email: It is the responsibility of each member of our faculty to regularly and consistently monitor their Argosy email for University announcements and messages regarding attendance, grades and other matters that affect your work with our students. Failure to do so may result in missing important information and time-sensitive messages for which you may be responsible. Communication with your students should be via your argosy.edu email address.
Restrooms: Restrooms are located throughout the building and meet code for handicapped accessibility.
Security: The security system is to control access and provide a high level of security to the campus. A campus security identification card will be required to access the elevator banks, campus entrance doors, administrative and faculty areas. Contact Student Services on the upper concourse to have your picture taken and your identification card issued.
Classroom Keys: Classroom doors now include a thumb- lock function for each classroom door. This has been changed to provide extra protection for faculty and students in the event of an emergency situation that would warrant a lock-down of the campus. Convocation. Any new core faculty hired in subsequent terms will receive a classroom master key at the start of the term they are hired in. Faculty will sign for the keys as they receive them. Faculty should carry this key with them at all times.
Certain adjunct faculty, as determined by the program chairs, will be informed via email that they will need to sign for and pick up a classroom master key at the front desk reception area from 5:00 to 6:00 PM weekdays.
Special Guests : Special Guests must be registered through the building’s Easy Lobby system. This system is setup to allow guests to stop at the security desk and receive a temporary pass. The temporary pass will allow access through the turnstiles to the elevator bank. Your Department Administrators will have access to this system and will be able to register guests that will be visiting the campus.
Children/Minors: Please note that children and minors are not allowed on Campus. This is monitored closely by our guard service after hours and during the day by Administrative Staff.

Problems with classrooms: A clipboard with a “Classroom Issue Log” has been provided in each classroom. Faculty should list any problems with the classroom on this log. The Administrative Services Manager will check these sheets daily.
Adjunct Faculty Office Space: Cubicles are marked “ADJUNCT” and are available on the 13th floor.
Computer Labs: Room 1318 is the computer lab equipped with computers for students. Room 1319 is available for laptop usage, with AC power and network access cables. The library and Academic Learning Center have computers available for student use. However, students are able to bring their own wireless laptops to access internet throughout the campus.
Student Lounge: Room 1308 provides tables for eating and study and vending machines for snacks and beverages. Refer to Campus Map
Core Faculty Mailboxes: The mailboxes are located in the mail/copy room # 1381 Mailboxes should be checked regularly because important information (memos, announcements, class lists, grade sheets, newsletters, etc.) is placed in them. The library provides an after- hours, drop-off box for student papers, etc.
Adjunct Faculty Mailboxes: Instructors will be assigned a mailbox during any semester they teach a course. The mailboxes are located in the mail/copy room # 1381. Mailboxes should be checked regularly because important information (memos, announcements, class lists, grade sheets, newsletters, etc.) is placed in them. Students also frequently place papers and assignments in these mailboxes.
Food, Drink, Smoking Regulations: Building regulations prohibit smoking on the premises. University policy permits eating and drinking in classrooms, faculty & staff and student lounges; however, individuals are expected to clean up after themselves, to respect the facilities, and to respect others when doing so. Individual faculty members have the right to prohibit eating and drinking during class session. Food and beverages are not permitted in the Library of the computer labs.
Supplies: Faculty should contact their Department Administrator to request supplies. The University does not reimburse supplies purchased by faculty members unless pre-approval has been obtained from your program chair. The University is prepared to purchase suitable quantities of normal classroom and office supplies.
Classroom Technology; Each classroom has been equipped with a projector, laptop computer, VHS/CD/DVD player, speakers and internet access. A telephone is located in each classroom for emergency use. Faculty Instructions have been placed on each equipment piece. If you have questions or problems with the equipment, place this information on the Classroom Issue Log/Clipboard.
Copy Services: A copier is available in the mail copy room #1381.
