Clinical PsychologyForensic PsychologyPurposeThe Forensic Psychology Concentration provides students with training in the area of psychology that interacts with the judicial system. Students in the concentration will be exposed to theory, research and application of psychological knowledge that impacts legal decisions making. Course Requirements The Forensic Psychology concentration requires the satisfactory completion of the PsyD in Clinical Psychology Program semester credit hour, Professionalization Group, Comprehensive Examination, five Clinical Competency tasks, and internship requirements listed under “Program Requirements” earlier in this section. Students in this concentration are required to fill the electives requirements portion of the program with the following courses: Advanced Intervention Elective Requirement — Students Are Required to Take the Following

Clinical Training: PracticumForensic concentration students will be encouraged to enroll in practicum that are in forensic settings such as jails, juvenile detention centers, and selected practice groups which are primarily engaged in forensic work. Students will be encouraged to enroll in seminars with faculty members familiar with forensic assessment and intervention. InternshipsStudents enrolled in the Forensic concentration are encouraged to intern at a site with a primary forensic focus in terms of population and assessment techniques. Clinical Research ProjectStudents in this concentration are required to investigate a topic related to Forensic Psychology.
